Even though some of you may not care how Google will name its next version of Android, it’s a funny thing to guess after what sweets the company will be branding Android L.

We reported a few days ago about Google's plans to install a new statue among those already placed on the lawn in front of its Mountain View headquarters.

There were some pictures showing workers arranging the lawn, possibly in order to install a new statue. To make things even more teasing, an announcement caught on camera alerted Googlers that a Crane lift project would be taking place in a certain building.

Said project should have taken place on September 6, and judging by the new picture showing the results, it doesn’t look like we will find out the name of the Android L version anytime soon.

Developer Thomas Devaux has recently posted a picture in which we can see that the Android statues (mascots) were moved around, probably to make room for a new one, which hasn’t been installed yet.

According to the latest rumors, Android L might be called Lemon Meringue Pie (LMP), but the name has yet to be confirmed.

Google’s Android L is expected to be officially launched sometime this fall, probably in October. A preview version is already available for Nexus 5 smartphones, so people can already try out some of its features.
