Taiwan is displayed as a Chinese province

It seems that Google has been flunking geography classes, for Taiwan is displayed as a Chinese province in Google Maps.

Actually, Taiwan has been separated from China in 1949. Unfortunately, the Beijing authorities are still regarding Taiwan as a Chinese province.

Anyway, the Google's error is not regarded by Taiwan as a mistake, but more likely as China's attempt to impose its version of history.

Taiwan Solidarity Union, an organization which fights for Taiwan's independence, has asked its supporters to protest by sending Google e-mails in which to outline that Taiwan is an independent and sovereign state.

This is not the first time when Google Maps is in trouble, in July, the Australian government demanding an investigation regarding the images of the nuclear powerplant provided by Google.
