Google Goggles has always been one of Google's coolest technology, even if it still isn't ready for much real world use and probably won't be for some years. But the simple fact that you can point your phone at something and find out what it is is something out of Sci Fi movies.

The latest version of Goggles goes one step further into Sci Fi territory with a simple yet very simple addition, continuous scanning and analysis.

There's no more need to snap a photo, in continuous mode, a constant stream of data is sent to and from Google servers. When the image recognition algorithms find something in the phone camera's view that they recognize, they send the info back to the phone.

There are several more additions to Google Goggles 1.7, but this is by far the most impressive one. You can try it out yourself, as long as you're running Android 2.3, just grab the latest version from the Market.
