Google has been teasing us with its futuristic HUD glasses for a while now. And it's probably going to tease us for a lot longer, as the devices are not hitting shops any time soon.
The interest in the devices is high, so Google has been able to get a lot of attention from the mainstream media. Sergey Brin has been on several TV shows wearing the glasses so far.
In his
latest TV appearance he revealed some of the details of how the device works currently and when we can expect it. It was also the first time Google let someone outside the company wear the devices, at least publicly.
One interesting tidbit that was revealed was the fact that the thick rim that houses the electronics is also a touchpad and can be used to interact with the device, left and right to scroll through a menu, swipe down to close an app, for example.
The other interesting tidbit is that the glasses could be available by next year, if things go very well, though it will likely take longer.
