Pandora has launched a new app that will help Google Glass users listen to music on the device.

The app the company built was the result of a 72-hour Hack-a-thon where employees came up with various products and ideas. This kind of event takes place in numerous tech companies and has given birth to plenty of the tools we use today.

Well, during its latest event, Pandora came up with a solution for the many Google Glass users who want to listen to music on the go. Since such Hack-a-thons are organized twice a year at the company, in spring and fall, it was an idea from several months ago that we’re seeing put in practice today.

“During the Hack-a-thon this spring, one team developed a hack for Pandora on Glass. It was such a hit that we decided to show it to Google, and we’re excited to announce today’s launch of Pandora for Glass,” the company writes.

The app for Google glass allows users to access their personalized radio stations from wherever they are and enables fans to control the tool via touchpad or voice commands. The list of commands one can use includes selecting an existing station and creating a new one.

Of course, the company points out that more advanced features are available via the touchpage, where you can rank tracks by giving them a thumbs up or a thumbs down. Standard controls like pause, skip and stop are also available in the same manner.

Google Glass Explorers who want to install Pandora can do this the regular way – by going to the Glassware page and locating the app, turning the app on and signing in. Permission needs to be granted for access to basic information. After that, you should find the app on the device.

Users can enjoy music from Pandora by using the built-in speaker and bone conductor, but also the single earbud that now comes with the Explorer kit. Alternatively, users can purchase the double earbud accessory that connects to the micro-USB.

“Launching on the Glass Explorer edition marks the latest wearable technology device that Pandora is available on (we announced on the Pebble SmartWatch for both iOS and Android a few months ago). We look forward to learning more about the wearables space from our launch on Glass and will continue to explore how we can develop meaningful Pandora experiences for our listeners on new devices and technologies,” Pandora’s team writes.
