Google has just released a new version of the Google Gesture Search application for devices running under its Android operating system.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the application was meant to provide users with the possibility to find content on their devices by using gestures.

Whether it comes down to finding contacts, applications, settings, music or bookmarks, Google Gesture Search will help users easily find those on their Android-based devices.

All that they need to do is draw letters and numbers, and search results will be refined as new gestures are being added.

Moreover, the Google Gesture Search for Android application was designed so as to learn from user’s search history, which means that it will do better and better with each search.

The new flavor of the application, namely 2.0.0 build 118, was released on Thursday with support for Google’s Nexus 7 tablet PC, as well as with a range of other enhancements packed inside.

The release notes for the new mobile application flavor show: - Now available on Android tablets such as Nexus 7.

- Faster search performance for large user data set.

- Support for searching multilingual contents using romanization, including Simplified Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

- The action for contacts is now customizable, e.g., changing calling to messaging.

- Contacts without phone numbers now became searchable.

- More UI improvements.

Those who would like to try the application on their devices, provided that they didn’t do that already, should know that it requires access to their personal data on the Android device, and that it also needs Internet access. The app will also have access to SMS, phone numbers, browser history and the like.
