The Android Market could be better, most people agree on this one, and one of the biggest complaints has been the lack of a website to browse the market on a computer or laptop. The Market app has recently gotten an update, a significant improvement, but there's work to be done yet. Finally, though, Google has announced that an Android Market website is now live and available to everyone.

"Over the past two years, developers around the world have helped make Android Market the go-to place for more than 100,000 apps, games and widgets," Eric Chu, Mobile Platforms program manager at Google, wrote.

"Previously, you could only access Android Market directly from your device, but today, we are introducing the Android Market website that lets you browse and search for great apps right from your web browser," he announced.

"The website makes it easy to discover great new apps with a bigger, brighter interface. You can also send apps directly to your Android device with just a few clicks—no wires needed," he explained.

Finding new apps should be a lot easier on the website. There are plenty of categories to choose from, helping you browse to find the one you're looking for.

Installing them couldn't be easier either. By default you'll see a QR code next to any of the apps which you can simply scan with your phone to grab it from the Market app.

If you're logged into your Google account though, it's even easier, all you have to do is click the install link on the site and the app should start downloading and installing on your device within seconds, everything over the air and without ever touching your phone, assuming you have data connection available.

There's more to like about the website as well, you can share the apps you like with your friends on Twitter and you can write reviews from the site, arguably a great alternative to tapping on your phone.
