The Mountain View based company sent a message to one of its users to remove the HD-DVD decryption key posted in his notebook. Because the content of a member's notebook might become available for other registered clients, the search giant sent a message to the user to demand him to delete the serial number. According to Wired Blogs, the company sustained the entire notebook will be removed if the illegal content is not deleted in three days. As you might know, Google Notebook is a service powered by the search giant that allows users to write and share messages with other members. The registered members are able to make the Notebook private so this one was probably public and allowed the access of any user.

"We are asking that you please remove the allegedly infringing content from your notebook. If you do not do this within the next 3 days (by 4/30/07), we will be forced to remove your entire notebook. If we did not do so, we would be subject to a claim of copyright infringement, regardless of its merits. Please note that repeated violations to our Terms of Service may result in further remedial action taken against your Google account," the company sustained in the message.

In the meantime, the HD-DVD decryption key was posted all over the Internet and most of the users were able to find it with ease. For example, the famous Digg was assaulted with a huge number of posts containing the serial number, most of them being allowed by the site's officials. Google was also attacked with malicious websites and, although the company managed to filter most of them, some of the pages were still indexed on the SERP.
