Google has announced that it will bring its Fiber Internet service to Shawnee, Kansas, after the city council voted on it.

Shawnee, which is just outside Kansas City, is the latest additions to Google’s network, after Austin, Texas and Provo, Utah.

However, while the announcement has been made, an estimated time for the rollout of the service hasn’t been provided.

“We still have a lot of planning and engineering work to do before we’re ready to bring Fiber to Shawnee,” Google said in a statement.

Ever since Fiber was launched in Kansas City, Google has managed to fill out the television offerings with several important channels, including HBO and ESPN.

At the beginning of the year, the Federal Communications Commission urged the creation of a fiber-based gigabit Internet network by 2015. Google has claimed its share so far, but more cities are sure to soon be added to the list.
