Google Earth 6.2 was recently launched and it boasted several new features and improvements. A big one, that Google is now detailing, is the search feature. The UI has been improved, there are now search layers, support for transit directions and so on.
One of the first things you'll notice is that tabs are gone and all search options are now bundled together, no more Fly To, Find Businesses and Directions.
Along with the new UI, which is heavily inspired by Google Maps, come new features such as transit or walk directions, again, very similar to the ones in Google Maps.
The Google Maps integration doesn't stop there, there are now search layers as well in Google Earth making it possible to spot all of the places that match your search query.
One thing that Google Maps can't do though is the ability to save search results, directions and so on as KML file to be used later or shared with others.
