The Mountain View company Google made a new improvement to the famous downloadable solution Google Earth, implementing the not-so-old Book Search technology straight into the application. From now on, you're able to view important snippets from numerous books as they are placed on certain locations, usually very relevant for the text. Basically, if you're looking for a book about Italy, you should open Google Earth, go over to Italy and look for a tiny yellow sign showing you the books. If you click on them, you should be able to view the details of the publication powered by Google Book Search as well as several quotes from the book.

"Did you ever wonder what Lewis and Clark said about your hometown as they passed through? What about if any other historical figures wrote about your part of the world? Earlier this year, we announced a first step toward geomapping the world's literary information by starting to integrate information from Google Book Search into Google Maps," Brandon Badger, Product Manager, prepared the presentation of the new interoperability.

"Today, the Google Book Search and Google Earth teams are excited to announce the next step: a new layer in Earth that allows you to explore locations through the lens of the world's books."

If you want to enable this new feature, you must do it by checking the "Google Book Search" layer included in the "Featured Content" menu of the Layers box. Earlier today, the Mountain View giant Google announced another impressive update for Google Earth: the implementation of the real-time traffic conditions that allow the users to choose the best route to reach a certain destination.
