Forbes poll says it? it must be true

Does receiving a CV every 25 seconds sound like a lot of CVs to go through at the end of the day? It should be, it's the Google standard, meaning that future successful companies will measure against it and everything it does. Out of the 3456 people who want to join the Googlers only 9 actually make it so I guess that one shouldn't have his hopes too high when applying.

A Forbes poll conducted on 446 companies' 100 thousand employees ranked Google as No. 1 in the list of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in America. It got a really long way from its beginning ten years ago, from a small garage to the Googleplex that hosts swimming pools, volleyball courts, massage rooms and many, many more, barber shops included. I mentioned those because it's what I don't understand. Is it something that you just decide in an instant and say? "I want to shave my head for I shall be more productive that way in my 20 percent"? Do you just go out on a whim and cut your hair or give up your beard? Is it something that engineers do and the rest of the world knows nothing about? Eh, well? I guess I'll never know.

The 75 billion pounds company has about ten thousand employees and they couldn't be happier with their workplace. Of course, some eventually give up and leave to follow some projects they think to look more promising and in direct connection to that I remember Facebook going after Googlers earlier this month but other than that it's one of the safest and better paid places to work in.

It's also a place with a myth growing: have you ever heard of the "Google 15"? It's the average number of pounds the food lovers put on after indulging in the myriad of gourmet organic recipes offered up by the cooks hired there, three times a day. Very few to none have escaped this "horrid" fate.
