Made official a few months ago, Google’s cloud service Drive is now available on both iOS and Android platforms.

In order to take advantage of the features offered by Google Drive service, Android users will need to download and install the application available in the Google Play store.

Those who have yet to try out Google Drive for Android, as well as long time users, will be happy to know that developers have just updated the application with new features that greatly improve its functionality and overall performance.

Firstly, the latest version of Google Drive for Android allows users to take advantage of useful options such as the ability to create folders, upload to folders and more to folders. In addition, users can now filter folder contents by file type.

Google also added a new option to auto-sync pinned content while on 3G network, in order to speed things up.

The Google Presentations has been improved as well to offer a richer viewing experience, so expect lots of visual enhancements.

Given the fact that Google Docs is now part of Google Drive service, developers added basic table support in Documents Editor, and the possibility to create, reply and resolve comments in Documents Editor.

With the latest version of Google Drive, users will also be able to view and change fonts in Documents Editor, as well as pinch to zoom.

More importantly, Google Drive now allows users to resume interrupted uploads. Last but not least, users will now be able to print files much easier than before as Google Drive now features Google Cloud Print.

Google Drive 1.1.4.12 is now available as a free download via Google Play store, formerly known as Android Market, and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.1 and up. Check it out here.
