Users who want to access their Google Drive files on the go will be able to do so on their iOS device soon enough. Google has opened the software development kit (SDK) to Apple platforms, in addition to Android.

A fresh post on the Google Developers Blog specifically states, “Today, we're announcing full mobile support for Android and iOS apps using the Drive SDK.”

Integration with Google Drive will allow iPhone and iPad owners to read and write files directly to Google Drive, as well as “Open with” Drive “to view or edit content from their phone or tablet just like they do on the web.”

Developers using the Drive SDK will be able to add just a few lines of JavaScript to their app and customers can begin sharing their files with an “embeddable sharing component,” Google said.
