The flashy site is quite useful, packed with data and analysis

With the amount of data that passes through Google servers each day, you can bet there's a huge amount of useful info in there, for anyone that takes the time to analyze it. Google is now using that info with a new site dubbed  "Think Insights with Google."

It's rather flashy and good looking, but don't let that fool you, it's filled with useful stats, info and analysis.

The site is aimed at marketers in particular, but anyone with some interest in the way people behave online and offline will find useful morsels of info in there.

"The site is fresh out of beta and sporting a playful new look, helpful tools, more studies, the latest trends and exciting videos," Laura McClung, Ads Marketing at Google, wrote.

"If you only have a few minutes to spare, try playing with our new Real Time Insights Finder tool. With just a few clicks you can spot emerging trends and gain valuable consumer insights, all in real time," she said.

The Real Time Insights Finder tool taps into several existing Google tools to see what's happening in search, on YouTube and so on at the very moment.

"Think Insights is forward-thinking and rooted in data. We hope you’ll use it as a one-stop shop for consumer trends, marketing insights and industry research," she added.

Apart from the troves of data and analysis, the site is an interesting example of Google's latest focus on design. While the overall look is still spartan and somewhat utilitarian, design is no longer an afterthought, it's central to the new site.

Looks alone wouldn't count for much, but the design of the site is practical too as it draws you into the different sections without overwhelming, a good thing considering the amount of data on the site.
