Microsoft just rolled out Outlook for iOS and the preview for Android too, so Google felt like it had to counter the move somehow to help people remember it too has a thing or two to say about mail services.

So the search giant took to Twitter to announce the advent of another Inbox Happy Hour. This means that Google is opening up its doors in order to send out invitations for its Inbox app. To be eligible to receive such a treatment, you will need to request one.

Get your Inbox invite while it's hot

So if you have been one of those folks hoping to get the chance to download and install the inbox app, you have until 12 EST Friday to send out a request and hope Google hears your voice and does something about it.

Inbox is a more advanced way of making sense of your Gmail inbox. For example, you have access to particular features such as “snooze” which lets you forget about certain emails, although they will be making a comeback to your inbox later.

Important messages can be pinned down in order to let you find the information you are searching for quicker.

A neat trick is that the app can help you complete a task. By that we mean that, in case you have a meeting scheduled at a new location, the app will remind you of that business engagement and also provide you with directions to get there.

Inbox also allows you to have a change of heart and retract a sent email before it has been read by the recipient. So no more angry messages to your ex after a night out.

On top of unleashing Inbox Happy Hour, Google also shared with us a graph related to the service (as spotted at Mobile Syrup). It turns out that 70% of those using the app do so on an Android phone, while 28% make use of an Apple iPhone. 34% use the service via web.
