The stable version of Google’s web browser progressed to build 18.0.1025.142, which is now the same as the beta. The new release is available for all supported platforms, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame.

Among other improvements, the new revision brings to the table faster graphics on Windows and Mac, thanks to hardware-accelerated Canvas2D. Also, users with older equipment will enjoy better-looking 3D content, as the browser relies on software rasterization solution SwiftShader for WebGL implementation.

The dev channel has also been updated, to build 19.0.1081.2. It features an updated JavaScript engine and a modification in the “Other Devices” menu on the new tab page (navigation history is restored when a tab is restored).

On Windows, a security improvement is disabling downloads from "file:" or "data:" URLs. A fix has been issued for incorrect drawing of extension and download icons on Mac.
