Google’s software engineers maintaining Chrome on the Mac are committed to making the web browser look as great as possible on Apple’s new MacBook Pro with Retina display. The next release of Chrome will include support for the computer’s insane pixel count.

Nico Weber, software engineer and chief Apple polisher, blogs for Google: “You always want Chrome to look great, no matter what device you’re using. Apple recently announced a new laptop with a Retina high-resolution screen, and we’re committed to polishing Chrome until it shines on that machine.”

Weber reveals to Chrome fans that the Canary channel has already been updated with a build that “shows the early results of this work, bringing basic high-resolution support to Chrome.”

He notes that work is still underway on the next release, but that they’re “off to the races to make Chrome as beautiful as it can be.”
