Microsoft’s Internet Explorer can’t really challenge Google Chrome

As you most likely know by now, Microsoft is spending a fortune on promoting Internet Explorer 10, while also struggling to show everyone that its in-house browser is better than the other ones currently on the market.

According to figures provided by StatCounter for the first two weeks of April 2013, Google Chrome remains the clear leader of the browser world with a market share of 38.05 percent, while Internet Explorer comes second with 31.13 percent.

Mozilla’s very own Firefox is only third with 19.81 percent, while Safari, the most popular browser on Mac OS X systems, is installed on only 7.95 percent of computers worldwide.

While that’s not at all good news for Microsoft, the company is getting ready to introduce a new version of its own browser sometime this year, as rumor has it that Windows 8.1 could bring Internet Explorer 11 too.
