Google Chrome’s progress is marked by a new release for the Dev version, available for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame).

The new build, 18.0.1017.2, takes care of a huge set of issues, but only a handful is more notable for the regular user. The new release comes with an updated JavaScript engine (V8 3.8.7.1), which has been improved in terms of stability and performance for all platforms.

As far as the issues eliminated go, the new Google Chrome Dev enables linear scaling for Chrome Remote Desktop’s scale-to-fit feature. Put into simpler terms, when starting a session the resolution should now fit the screen.

Also fixed is a problem occurring on Mac systems, where a flashing window would appear while deleting profile.

You can check the full set of changes on this page.
