It looks like Google Chrome development team is no longer switching on and off various functionalities in the web browser and released a new update for the beta channel, sporting several modifications.
Google Chrome beta 18.0.1025.140 is available for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame) and brings to the table a handful of fixes for all of them.
Font settings should now be saved when quitting the configuration panel. Also, creating a new tab while a previous one was still loading would cause the new tab to crash. This has been solved in this revision.
Another problem eliminated in this build is failure to initiate a search session when dragging and dropping text from a web page into the address bar.
