Version 43.0.2357.124 is now up for grabs on all platforms

On Patch Tuesday, Adobe rolled out security improvements for its software, including Flash Player, and as it usually happens every single month, companies whose products come with this client runtime built-in also update their apps to patch any security bugs that might exist.

Google is one of those companies, and this week it rolled out a new version of the Chrome browser for Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Google Chrome 43.0.2357.124 doesn’t have a lengthy changelog, and the only thing the search giant has said is that it comes with the recently updated Adobe Flash Player 18.0.0.160, which is the most obvious sign that everyone should update as soon as possible.

Flash Player has been one of the most vulnerable pieces of software in the last couple of years, and given the fact that Flash content is everywhere you look on the web, it’s critical for users to update it whenever a new version becomes available.

Prioritize deployment of the new Chrome

Google Chrome and Internet Explorer come with Adobe Flash Player built-in, so while Adobe rolls out security patches for its software, it’s up to Google and Microsoft to release updates for their own apps.

To understand how important this new release of Google Chrome is, we turned to Chris Goettl, product manager with Shavlik, who explained that, given the fact that it patches a Flash Player bug, all Google Chrome users should prioritize the deployment of this new version.

“Google has released an update for Chrome. The only fix in this release is support for the latest Adobe Flash plug-in. Roll this out as soon as possible,” he told us this morning.

As far as the new Flash Player version is concerned, Adobe fixed a total of 13 vulnerabilities in version 18.0.0.160, with most of them allowing execution of arbitrary code in the case of successful exploitation. More information on the new version of Flash Player can be found here.

In the meantime, Google Chrome users are strongly recommended to update the app on all desktop platforms out there, so hit the links below to get the new version right now.
