Google is not wasting any time pushing forward the evolution of its open-source browser. In fact, this is somewhat of an understatement for a company that went through three major releases of Chrome in approximately one year since version 1.0 was introduced on the market. Having offered the first beta development milestone of Google Chrome 4.0 at the start of this month, the Mountain View-based search giant started pushing a new Build through its Dev channel at the end of last week. Google Chrome 4.0.237.0 is now available for download for early adopters that want even more than the Beta Build.

“The Dev channel has been updated to 4.0.237.0 for all platforms (Windows, Mac, and Linux). The focus on this release has been feature polish, stability improvement, and extensions work,” revealed Anthony Laforge, Google Chrome program manager. As far as the Windows flavor of Google Chrome Build 4.0.237.0 is concerned, the search giant has worked mostly to introduce new extensions.

On November 2nd, 2009, Google updated its Chrome Beta channel to version 4.0. Beta testers will be able to leverage bookmark synchronization in the Cloud. The company revealed that it was using the infrastructure of XMPP-based servers that powered Google Talk in order to ensure that bookmarks remained synced across Chrome 4.0 Beta. Moreover, just like in the case of previous Chrome iteration, Google labored to boost performance even further. As of 4.0 Beta Chrome is offering end users over 400% more speed than v1.0, and 30% more compared to v3.0.

Also last week, the search giant released Chrome 3.0.195.32 through the stable channel. For Chrome 3.0.195.32 the focus was resolving a range of security and stability issues affecting the browser. Still, even with the rapid development pace of Google Chrome, the Mountain View-based company has yet to embrace the latest release of Windows. Users that want to take advantage of Chrome in combination with the trademark features of Windows 7, such as Aero Peek, Aero Snap, Jumplists, Thumbnail Taskbar Previews, will have to exercise their patience a little longer.   Google Chrome 3.0 Stable and Google Chrome 4.0 Beta and Dev are available for download here.
