The Development branch of Google Chrome, a browser built on the Blink layout engine that aims to be minimalistic and versatile at the same time, has advanced now to version 38.0.2125.8 and it's ready for testing.

Google Chrome usually features three distinct branches: Dev, Beta, and Stable. The development branch is where all the new features, changes, and other improvements are implemented. This latest iteration of the software only comes with a few changes and this might mean that they are getting closer to a very big release.

According to the developers, the PNaCl plugin is now preloaded when the webapp has been started, the correct key string is now generated by the IME extensions for the media keys, the fontFamily for the AppMenu has been set, the slot ID of client certs has been moved, certain network configurations and some new accessibility features have been added to the new avatar menu.

The Google Chrome developers only provide two kinds of binary files, deb and rpm, and no source. If you are not using a Linux distribution capable of reading this type of files, you will have to wait until it hits your repositories.

Usually, a complete list of changes can be found on the official website.
