The Development branch of Google Chrome, a browser built on the Blink layout engine that aims to be minimalistic and versatile at the same time, is now at version 38.0.2121.3 and is available for all platforms.

Google Chrome usually features three distinct branches: Dev, Beta, and Stable. The development branch is where all the new features, changes, and other improvements are implemented. It's no guarantee that the changes will land into the stable branch.

According to the developers, clang is now the default host compiler when cross-compiling, the Blink engine has been updated, copying long text to Chrome and pasting long text from Chrome are now working, chromecast is now supported by default, the 3D effect for Bluetooth keyboard pairing buttons has been removed, the V8 engine has been updated, and easy unlock owners have been added.

The Google Chrome developers only provide two kinds of binary files, deb and rpm, and no source. If you are not using a Linux distribution capable of reading this type of files, you will have to wait until it hits your repositories.

Usually, a complete list of changes can be found on the official website.
