There's no doubt that Google Chrome is currently one of the leading choices when it comes to browsers for many Internet users, so Google tries to keep them fully up-to-date with the work it's doing on the project by releasing new betas and developer previews on a regular basis.

As one could easily guess, these early releases of Chrome are specifically supposed to give users the chance to try out the feature lineup of the next stable build ahead of the public launch, but also to allow developers to optimize their websites for the new version of the browser.

As a result, Google today introduced a new dev build of Chrome which is mostly focused on fixing bugs and addressing crashes occurring all of a sudden, so in case you've been experiencing such an unexpected behavior with the app, this is the version that you shall download.

Google Chrome 37.0.2062.3 Dev is one of the early builds that should not be installed unless you have the time and the knowledge to diagnose bugs and send them to Google, thus contributing to an overall enhanced experience and stability that should be offered by the next stable version of the browser.

This fresh release is available on all supported desktop platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, and should be installed by those who are already running the dev build.

Of course, it also includes updates for the 64-bit version of Chrome for Windows, a new flavor of the browser that has been only recently announced and said to offer superior performance in terms of speed and security.

Google itself explained in a blog post published a few weeks ago that the new technologies available in operating systems such as Windows 7 and Windows 8, but also the 64-bit architecture, allowed the company to significantly improve performance in Chrome 64-bit, leading to speed improvements of up to 25 percent.

“64-bit allows us to take advantage of the latest processor and compiler optimizations, a more modern instruction set, and a calling convention that allows more function parameters to be passed quickly by registers. As a result, speed is improved, especially in graphics and multimedia content, where we see an average 25% improvement in performance,” Google said.

Even better performance figures are expected to be achieved as the 64-bit version of Chrome advances through development channels, so more info on this shall be provided soon. In the meantime, you can try out the fresh version by clicking the download links below and installing the version aimed at your computer.
