Google continues development of the next stable build of Chrome, so today the company unveiled a fresh beta build that comes to correct most, if not all of the bugs you've seen in the previous versions.

Google Chrome 36.0.1985.18 Beta doesn't bring any new features or major improvements, but it's still a critical build for the overall stability of the browser, so in case you're running the preview version already, make sure that you install this new one as soon as possible.

Google hasn't provided any details about the new Chrome beta build, but it's safe to assume that bug fixes and performance improvements were the key focus of the development, no matter the platform. Of course, just like all the other builds of Chrome, this new one offers support for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

On the other hand, do not forget that this is still part of the beta development stage, which means that a number of bugs and other issues could still be there, so users who don't have the time or the skills to diagnose bugs and report them to Google should really stick to the stable build.

One of the good things about this new beta version of Chrome is the support for Windows XP and Google is one of the companies whose apps will continue to work on Microsoft's old platform for many months from now.

The company confirmed in late 2013 that Chrome will still have support for Windows XP for at least 24 more months, so in case you're yet to upgrade and currently looking for a powerful replacement for Internet Explorer, this could be the right choice.

“Like all technologies that come to their end-of-life, the XP operating system and most of its desktop applications will no longer receive updates and security patches. Since unpatched browser bugs are often used by malware to infect computers, we’re extending support for Chrome on Windows XP, and will continue to provide regular updates and security patches until at least April 2015,” Mark Larson, director of Engineering and Superintendent of Public Safety, Google Chrome, announced in a blog post last year.

Since the beta build comes with support for Windows XP, expect the next stable version to do this as well, so users who are still running this old operating system should really consider Chrome an option.

In the end, this new beta is still worth a try no matter the platform you are using right now, so click on the download links below to get the pack that works on your operating system.
