14 DAY TRIAL // Google Chrome, a browser built on the Blink layout engine that aims to be minimalistic and versatile at the same time, has just been promoted to version 35 and is now based on Aura and not GTK+.
Google developers have released a new version of their Chrome browser and it comes with fair number of changes and improvements. What’s interesting though is the fact that they didn't mention that the browser is no longer using GTK+, but Aura, which is Google’s own version.
According to the changelog, more developer control over touch input has been implemented, new JavaScript features have been implemented, unprefixed Shadow DOM is now available, a number of new apps/extension APIs have been added, and lot of under the hood changes for stability and performance have been added.
As usual, each new major stable version comes with a number of security fixes, and in this case there are 23. Some of them have been described publicly, while others will remain hidden for the time being.
The Google Chrome developers only provide two kinds of binary files, deb and rpm, and no source. If you are not using a Linux distribution capable of reading this type of files, you will have to wait until it hits your repositories.
