The team in charge with developing and maintaining Google Chrome has released a fresh beta to Mac, Windows, and Linux users offering the usual bag of fixes, and at least one platform-specific enhancement that addresses DPI threshold.

As usual, the new update is announced via the Beta channel of the Chrome Releases blog, where Daniel Xie writes, “The Beta Channel has been updated to 34.0.1847.45 for Windows, Mac and Linux.”

“This release fixes a number of crashes and other bugs,” he adds, offering to give users a peek at the SVN log where all of the addressed bugs are detailed.

Right off the bat I noticed that the new Chrome beta fixes encoding of UTF-8 characters sent to Google speech server and addresses desktop user-manager regressions caused by recent CrOS Kiosk UI changes.

The update further adjusts the DPI (dots per inch) threshold for high-DPI screens (i.e. Retina displays), and fixes a crash in video conformance tests. Numerous other bug fixes are mentioned, so if you’re interested in getting the full scoop, you’re more than welcome to pay that changelog a visit. As usual, the download links for all supported platforms can be found below.
