The Google Chrome developers are not yet ready to move out of the 31.x branch and they have released yet another update.
According to the announcement, the grammar for the privet notifications checkbox on chrome settings dialog has been fixed, the overview mode has been disabled by default, and a child X window workaround has been re-enabled.
