Google Chrome 30 has reached the beta channel. The full build number is 30.0.1599.14 and it is currently available for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux, and Chrome Frame).

Notable in this release is the improvement to searching for content starting from an image. More precisely, Chrome 30 provides the option to search the web for a picture on a website just by right-clicking on it.

Searching by image can be achieved at the moment by visiting the Google Images search page and by providing either a link to the pic or by uploading a locally stored photo. But, in the new development, the entire process becomes much faster and more comfortable. Check out the image above for a glimpse of the new menu entry.

The feature is also present in the mobile version of the browser, where the context menu is activated simply by long pressing it.

The developer also informs that the fresh revision is packed with stability and performance enhancements and new apps and extension APIs.
