Google Chrome, a browser built on the WebKit layout engine that aims to be minimalistic and versatile at the same time, is now at version 28.0.1500.45.

A new stable version of Google Chrome has been launched, but there are not many details about this latest release.

This is a rather strange update from Google, mostly because it is only for the Linux platform. The Windows and Mac OS platforms are still stuck with the 27.x stable branch.

Google usually list all the bugs and fixes for a specific version, but this time they've only updated the minimum requirements to run Google Chrome on Linux.

The minimum requirements:

Ubuntu 12.04+ • Debian 7+ • OpenSuSE 12.2+ • Fedora Linux 17+

Download Google Chrome 28.0.1500.11 right now from Softpedia. The installation is straight forwards and you will get the new Stable branch in no time.
