Along with promoting Chrome 25 to stable channel, Google also released an update for Chrome Dev, incrementing its build number to 26.0.1410.12. The new revision is available for all supported platforms (WindowsMacLinux and Chrome Frame).

Starting this build, apps hosted in Chrome will be opened from the app launcher. Some problems with the sign-in action on Windows and Mac systems have been eliminated as well as the issue with the background tab flashing with certain themes.

On Windows (7 and 8), a system-level install installation of the browser would create desktop shortcuts although this should not happen. For the enterprise version, now there is a modal confirmation dialog for profile sign-in.

This is a privacy measure designed to allow enterprise users to create a new profile in order to avoid synchronization of private data to their enterprise account.
