Google has already issued a Chrome update to deal with the vulnerability revealed during the Pwn2Own competition. A serious bug enabled attackers to exploit another vulnerability in the Windows kernel to take control over the system.

Since this year, Pwn2Own contestants are required to disclose the bugs and methods they used, Google's engineers were able to find a solution within hours and have a patched version of Chrome out soon after the discovery.

Google didn't disclose much in the release announcement, though the exploit was described in summary by the team that discovered it from MWR Labs. The exploit earned them $100,000 (€76,860) in prize money in the Pwn2Own competition.

Google Chrome 25.0.11364.160 is now rolling out to users on Windows, Mac and Linux. It should be landing soon, if it hasn't arrived for you yet. A detailed description of the bug should come at a later date, when most people have updated to the patched version of Chrome.
