Google rolled out a new update for the stable channel of the Chrome browser. The fresh build is a minor release that increments the version number to 23.0.1271.95. It is available for all supported platforms (WindowsMacLinux and Chrome Frame) and it is designed to strengthen the browser’s security.

The development team has eliminated two vulnerabilities, both of high priority. Both security flaws are currently undisclosed and will remain so until the majority of the users receive the new update.

However, some details are available and one of them refers to incorrect handling of a file path, while the other, equally serious in nature, refers to use-after-free error in media source handling.

The second vulnerability has been uncovered by Pinkie Pie who was awarded with $7,331 / EUR 5642. The same hacker recently showcased an exploit in Google Chrome, which brought him a much more consistent prize, of $60,000, EUR 46,540.
