Google has updated Chrome browser to version 23. The fresh release is available for all supported platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome Frame) and it incorporates significant improvements, as well as security fixes.

Version 23.0.1271.64 of the web browser brings to the table new features, such as GPU-accelerated video decoding on Windows.

The main advantage of this new feature is longer battery usage (as much as 25%) on mobile computers, as dedicated graphics cards require less power when rendering video content.

Handling website’s permissions for geolocation, pop-ups and camera/microphone access has also been made easier, because the settings for these options are now available in the lock icon in Omnibox.

Also new in this revision is the possibility to send “do not track” request to websites and web services and the fresh Flash Player released by Adobe.
