The more adventurous Chromebook users will be glad to know that an update has been released to the dev channel, the first since Chrome 18 debuted. The latest release comes with several fixes and improvements, mostly affecting performance and stability. There are several security patches as well.
Chrome OS 1625.0.0, which comes with Google Chrome 18.0.1017.3, fixes the login issues encountered by the previous release, especially for machines that came with Chrome 11 or earlier built in. The Flash plugin has also been updated.
This wouldn't be a dev channel release without some known issues. Google+ hangouts don't work, there is only audio, though others will be able to see your webcam stream.
Another bug affecting this release - the screen is not redrawn sometimes when switching tabs. The temporary fix is to close all tabs and restart your Chromebook.
