Google Checkout is an innovative service provided by the search giant that allows you to buy all kinds of things directly from a single website without having to send your information multiple times. The company tried to improve it periodically to make it more powerful than its rivals by revealing special offers and bonuses for its clients. The most successful period in the Checkout history was surely represented by the Christmas holidays when the search giant introduced many promotions
to the users.

Because it works with the clients' financial information, it's a must to own a powerful security system that allows clients to make shopping online without any threat. That's why the company implemented some functions that will send an order to the merchant when the client confirms the purchase. Then, Google will have to authorize the order and proceed to the transaction.

Google provided only 72 hours for the confirming process so many users sent messaged to the company saying that their clients are disappointed because sometimes they don't have enough time to complete their order, especially in weekends or holidays. Google announced today a new modification in the Checkout service, saying that the authorization period is now extended to seven calendar days. Steve Stukenborg, Senior Product Manager, posted a message on the official blog to announce the new improvement and to provide more details about it.

"In response to this feedback, we've extended the authorization period to seven calendar days for guaranteed funds. Now you can step away from the office without having to worry about charging orders so soon after you receive them. If you miss this seven-day window, you can still charge your buyer, although you won't be guaranteed funds. But with 168 total hours of authorization time, how often is that really going to happen?" the Google employee said.
