Halloween is not here for most of the world, but the scariest day of the year has already started in parts of the Pacific ocean. Google is not wasting any time and is already running a dedicated doodle in New Zealand with Australia next. And what better way to celebrate Halloween than with a good old fashioned Scooby Doo mystery.

The doodle will probably be going live on all Google localized pages as the clock strikes 12 in all the time zones of the world. If you can't wait to see what Google has in store for you, you can head on to google.co.nz to check it out. Or you can scroll down and view all of the panels bellow.

Google is sporting increasingly elaborated doodles and this latest one doesn't disappoint. The rich visual style, albeit instantly recognizable from the classic cartoon, is spread out over five frames.

The frames tell a classic Scooby Doo story. A terrifying ghost is scaring the kids away from trick-or-treating. It's up to Scooby and gang to figure out the mystery. As is always the case, the ghost is revealed to be not so scary or real after all.

Of course, the Google logo is cleverly disguised in all of the panels, though it's more easily spotted in some. Recognizing the Google letters in the doodles is an acquired skill.

Childhood cartoon inspired doodles are becoming a trend at Google. Very recently, the search giant celebrated the 50th birthday of The Flintstones, another classic cartoon.

The interesting part is that both The Flintstones and Scooby Doo have been around on this Earth longer than most Googlers, save for CEO Eric Schmidt and a few of the senior execs and staff.

As Halloween officially begins around the world, you can expect the doodle series to adorn the Google homepage in all countries and languages the search engine is offered including the main Google.com.
