Google Base Gets New Look

Every user is looking for a search engine that combines speed, functions and interface into a single product that allows him to find exactly what he was looking for. Probably, Google thinks the same because the company decided to give Google Base a new look that will improve the search experience of its users.

As you may know, Google Base is one the services that allow you to publish any type of file and make it searchable on Google, no matter if it is offline or
online content. The search giant improved the interface of the service, adding more features to help users find exactly the result they want.

One change is related to the way images are displayed, the user being now able to view more details, rate the picture or even write a review about it.

Nick White, Software Engineer at Google, posted a message on the blog to present the new features and the way they will be implemented into the service.

"You can now view some types of information in a table -- or a grid, if you prefer. We updated the sorting and refinement user interface to be cleaner and faster. (The more technical among you may notice we're using the fun and friendly Google Web Toolkit for the AJAX features.) One of my favorite updates is the addition of ratings and reviews: if you find a favorite new curry recipe, give it five stars. Better yet, write a review -- I'm sure everyone will appreciate your insights," he said.

It seems like Google Base was designed to represent another type of search engine because it is developed and improved with users' help, allowing them to do all kinds of stuff to modify the content of the service.
