Google is now making it possible to import your contacts from other email providers, including Yahoo, Hotmail or AOL, into your Google Apps account. Regular Gmail users have been able to do this for years, but the functionality has only now been added to the Google Apps Gmail.

"If you're switching to Gmail from another email provider like Yahoo!, Hotmail, or AOL, consumer Gmail has a handy tool to help you move over your old emails and contacts. This tool is now accessible to Google Apps users as well," Google explained.

Note though that the tool is not Google-built and it's not the same as the contacts import tool in Gmail, rather it's powered by True Switch.

Admins have to enable the functionality, but if they do, users will be able to import their contacts and their old email messages in their brand new shiny Google Apps-provided Gmail accounts.
