Google has just announced it will bring mobile payments to Android beginning Q3 2015. With Android Pay, users will be able to pay in a simple and secure way with their Android phones.

The search giant has partnered with carriers and stores in the United States, so Android Pay will come pre-installed on devices available through AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon.

However, Android Pay will be available for download via Google Play Store as well. This means that when your bank integrates the service, you will be able to activate Android Pay directly from your bank application.

According to Google, Android Pay will be accepted at over 700,000 store locations from major brands across the US, and in over 1,000 Android apps. More will be added daily.

With Android Pay, users will be able to make mobile payments via merchant contactless terminals, but the service can be used for online purchases as well.

Simply select “Buy with Android Pay” and you won't need to enter your credit card and shipping address each time you make a purchase online.

Launching only in the US along with Android M

On top of that, Android Pay partners and select retailers will provide users with loyalty programs and special offers, which will be automatically applied at checkout.

Furthermore, Google's Android Pay service will allow users to pay with their credit or debit card, across multiple Android devices, and at thousands of stores.

Google also confirmed that it has partnered with all major payment networks in the United States, including American Express, Discover, MasterCard and Visa, in order to make Android Pay as secure as possible.

Android Pay will be rolled out along with Android M later this year. Initially, the service will only be available in the United States. There's no word on availability in other countries for the moment.
