Google Announces AdWords Maintenance

Google AdWords is a service designed by Google and it allows you to place ads on the search engine result page for specific keywords. Because Google is the most used search engine on the internet, it's obvious that all companies or even users that are interested in online advertising want to place ads on Google's pages. This means that AdWords tends to become the leader in the online advertising solutions category, the company trying to improve it periodically to maintain or even to improve its functionality.

Although AdWords is probably the most well known advertising platform on the internet, several users reported problems, bugs or errors while they were using the service. The company created multiple ways for receiving feedback or to require customers' help, so from time to time Google stops the service to start a maintenance process on AdWords. This is one of those moments, the search giant announcing today that a new unscheduled maintenance is going to start on Tuesday.

Under the title "Unscheduled AdWords Maintenance" Jon Diorio, Product Marketing, said on the official blog that "we will be performing unscheduled AdWords maintenance from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. US Pacific Standard Time on Tuesday, January 9, 2007. While all AdWords advertisements will continue to run as normal, you may not be able to run or retrieve reports, upload image & video ads, or access the AdWords API Sandbox during this maintenance period. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

Although the company didn't mention any official reason for starting the maintenance process, it's obvious that Google wants to check if the service is working properly, as the search engine giant's rivals already announced multiple advertising solutions to be released.
