Today, Google announced a new conference especially created for developers, scheduled for May 31, 2007 that will host several meetings concerning the developer tools built by Google. The search giant announced the event in 10 locations including Mountain View, Sao Paulo, Madrid, London, Paris, Hamburg, Moscow, Beijing, Tokyo and Sydney. The company also confirmed a new YouTube channel that will be released soon, being especially created to provide live streaming webcasts from the Mountain View office.

"We're very excited to hold this first-ever worldwide Google developer gathering. Developers are using Google's APIs and tools to build innovative web applications that we never dreamed of, and Google Developer Day is an opportunity for them to connect with one another, learn the latest techniques and have their questions answered by Google's developer product teams. It's also a chance for us to get feedback from the community and find ways to make our developer offerings even better," said Google Vice President of Search Products and User Experience Marissa Mayer according to a press release published by Google.

This is the first developer conference announced by Google that is more and more interested in building developer tools compatible with most of its products. Google's scheduled event is somehow similar to Apple's WorldWide Developers Conference, a meeting that is often attracting the developers from every corner of the world. Usually, Apple uses the conference to present new products or techniques as well as to release the latest solutions designed by the company. This year, the WWDC is scheduled for June 11 - June 15 and is regarded as the perfect moment for the release of iPhone as well as for the next operating system prepared by the company, Leopard.
