The new software provides access to the same accounts and profiles that are available through the Analytics website in any desktop browser.
However, the reports that are being delivered to developers through the mobile application have been optimized for viewing on the smaller screen of a smartphone.
Devs will find it easy to swipe through these reports to find useful data about their websites and applications, regardless of where they are.
The app was designed so that those who have a Google Analytics profile can access the latest or more important info on their products even when on the go.
The Google Analytics application for Android will offer access to real-time statistics, along with customizable dashboards and intelligence events, all straight from the phone, from anywhere, at all times.
Here’s a rundown of the most important features of the new Google Analytics app:
Real-Time: See the number of visitors you currently have and a list of the pages (for websites) or screens (for apps) that are currently popular.
Dashboard: Monitor the KPIs and user metrics you care about the most. By default, you’ll see your Daily Unique Visitors and your Goal Conversion Rate, but you can customize the dashboard to change which reports, metrics, or segments you see.
Automatic and Customized Alerts: Google Analytics detects statistical anomalies in your data and can send you an alert when something unusual happens. See either automatic alerts, or customize your settings to send alerts based on your own benchmarks.
The new Android application is available for download for free via the Google Play store. At only 1.7MB, it was developed with support for all smartphones that are powered by Android 2.1 or newer flavors of the operating system.
