Just like Microsoft, Google today released an update for its browser that comes to patch Flash Player vulnerabilities and keep users who browse the web with Chrome completely secure.

Google announced the component update earlier today, but also mentioned that no new version of Chrome is being released for Windows and Mac OS machines.

“We are updating Flash Player to version 14.0.0.145 on Windows and Mac via our component update system (i.e. there will not be a Chrome update),” Karen Grunbreg, Google Chrome developer, said in a statement.

Today's Flash Player update comes to fix a vulnerability in the software that would allow an attacker to run malicious code on your computer with the help of a compromised website hosting infected Flash content. Of course, the Flash Player update is also available separately for all the other users, but Chrome and Internet Explorer users are getting it automatically through the built-in update channels.

Linux users are not affected by today's component update, while both Windows and Mac OS X users should get the patch without further interaction.

In the meantime, the same stable builds of Chrome are also available for download, so hit the links below to get the stable version working on your system.
