Google has released the latest version of its AdMob SDK for iOS developers, which completes the transition from UDID to comply with Apple policies, in addition to delivering maintenance and bug fixes.

The Google AdMob SDK version 6.4.0 for iOS no longer accesses the UDID (unique device identifier), and includes support for receiving test ads when using AdMob through mediation.

Test ads are now only available on devices running iOS 6 and newer. The update fixes a GADInterstitial crash that occurs when the app is running in the background, as well as a GADMRAIDInterceptor threading crash. Finally, the SDK now renames symbols automatically to prevent duplicate symbol errors.

According to Google, the company’s SDK “enables mobile app developers to maximize their monetization on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone 7 by tapping into Google and AdMob's vast combined pool of advertisers.”
