Today, Google has started delivering a brand-new version of the Google+ application to the owners of Android-based devices out there, so as to provide them with a nice range of new features and enhancements.

Currently available for download as version 4.4.0, the Google+ for Android application is said to come to devices with no less than 9 major improvements.

According to Google’s Dave Besbris, the updated app iteration arrives on smartphones and tablet PCs with the option to have Auto Awesome Stories combine photos, videos and visited places into beautiful travelogues.

Moreover, the new update comes with Auto Awesome Movies, which is also available on iOS and the web, and which is meant to deliver highlight reels of photos and videos to users.

Additionally, the new app iteration provides people with the possibility to create animated GIFs and photobooth-style images as they like. For that, users will simply need to tap the new plus button in Photos, and then hit either Motion or Mix.

Google+ for Android also comes with support for big photo libraries now, enabling users to access thousands of photos quickly and easily.

Additionally, the updated mobile client allows owners of Android devices out there to browse their entire photo library, along with their highlights, by date. For that, they simply need to drag the new scroll bar in order to move forwards or backwards in time.

Following the update, users will also see that profiles now show total content views in the Android app (as well as on the web). They will also be able to head over to Settings in order to toggle show / hide this number.

Google+ for Android now sports a brand-new navigation menu, which is meant to allow people to switch between their favorite circles and communities (or other places in the app) much easier than before.

Sharing content from a mobile device is also easier than before. Users will simply need to tap the new pencil icon at the bottom right of the stream to get started.

Additionally, in the new release, the app menu slides away as the user moves down the stream, which will result in posts filling the entire screen.

The mobile application has been already pushed to the official store, though it might not appear as available to users in all markets out there at the moment.

You can download Google+ for Android from Softpedia today. The mobile client is compatible with all devices running under Android 4.0 or up.
