Google has released an updated version of its Google+ (Google Plus) application for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Among other things, the app now opens posted web links in Chrome, if the browser is installed on your iOS device.

According to the Google+ 3.1 for iOS changelog, “web links in posts now open in Chrome (if installed).” Google’s Chrome web browser was released for iOS devices this summer.

Another addition to the Google+ app, teens can now join and create Hangouts, according to the Mountain View search giant. Last, but not least, an Instant Upload bug has been fixed to improve performance.

Google+ is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later. The app is universal, meaning you download once and install it on all your devices.
