Bigmouthmedia conducted a new research in the UK revealing that most of the residents of the country think that Google will remain the leader of the Internet search engine competition for at least five years from now. The survey included 1.101 persons, 551 men and 550 women, all from UK. According to bigmouthmedia, 51 percent of the men said that Google will remain the leader for about 5 years while 56 percent of the women had the same opinion. Only 6 percent of the respondents said that Google will be relegated from the leader position of the search engines competition.

The percentage of the ones who didn't know the answer was quite impressive and I think they could influence the results of the survey: 41 percent of the men and 39 percent of the women said that they don't know who would be the leader of the search engine in five years.

"Google faces a huge challenge in not being seen as trying to gobble up the world. I suspect the best way to counter concerns is to be as open in advance of any moves, hear feedback and be shown as actually responsive by making some changes. I think recent moves with the cookies and log data retention is an example of this, though it's sadly countered by StreetView being rolled out without any heads-up that it was coming, to warn the public," Danny Sullivan, a famous name when it comes to search engines said according to the same source.

Google is extremely powerful at this time and a lot of the recently rolled out improvements revealed that the search giant will remain so for a long period of time. But let's not forget that Google's rivals are also struggling to improve their solutions and compete with the Mountain View company so let's wait for a while and see what happens.
